Meditation does not demand preparation, training, or discipline.
Meditation does not demand a specific location, time, or reason.
Meditation does not demand any commitment or promise.
Life's Invitations to mediate have a tendency peek out from the most curious of times and places, like the single flower growing out of a sidewalk. Meditation is motherly; no matter the time spent visiting, she is always glad you stopped by.
Impermanence reaches everything, yet few of us can accept it. Since childhood we are told that some things are forever, yet in our lifetime we have seen the conclusion of things we thought were, or should be, timeless. Confronting adversity, tragedy, mortality, we learn the most humbling of lessons; the inevitable and absolute reach of impermanence. Nothing escapes it. Knowing this, why do we still anguish over conclusion and loss? Can we learn to accept conclusion when it comes? YES! mindfulness and meditation and can show us one way.
We are creatures of habit; governed by self-preservation. Our minds have been conditioned by ourselves and society to accept certain "truths" which are a source of much of our mental, emotional and physical pain. Once we can identity a certain "truth" as the cause of our pain, we can begin healing. The problem is such "truths" are a perspective of reality, making it excessively difficulty to recognize them when we are clouded by emotion. Even if we can identify a "truth" causing us pain, we are not conditioned to recognize impermanence. If we can condition our minds and soul through mindfulness meditation to truly accept that impermanence reaches all "truths", that may later cause us pain, we will be better equipped to believe ourselves when we whisper, all pain goes away.
Emotional pain begins with inward thought. When we look inwards and ask ourselves, "why me?""why not me?" "what about me"
